Beast of Burden (Paul K. Lewis, 2021) 3Fan

Beast of Burden (Paul K. Lewis, 2021) (Bellagio (Lewis) X Sips of Sin (Hensley)) Tet., Sev., M, 5.5″ bloom, 30″ scape, 2 to 3 way branching, 18 buds.In my yard you sometimes plant seedlings wherever you can find space, and if they thrive in a not so great spot, they make the cut. Such was the case with Beast of Burden. It was 1 of 3 seedlings lined out in the backyard. Not the best location, but Beast of Burden was the clear winner from that cross. Lovely 30 inch scapes and when it is in full bloom, it’s the only thing you see in a field of daylilies. It’s awesome. Bright red self that blends into a yellow green throat. Easily fertile both ways.
